Research

RCT conducts research in the mental and physical sequelae of torture, the methodology of treatment of torture survivors as well as the reasons for and effects of torture on the affected communities. The research aims at eliminating torture world-wide.

The overall aim of RCT’s research effort is to develop the quality and effect of interventions in the rehabilitation of torture survivors and in the prevention of torture and organised violence (TOV). The research department will work towards this aim in two ways: through a systematic gathering and documentation of existing knowledge and practice regarding the effects of and the methods for rehabilitation and prevention as well as through conducting research.

The RCT Research and Knowledge Centre is centred round the following three clusters:

  • Rehabilitation Research
  • Prevention Research
  • Documentation Centre
